    specifically ID’ed. We considered YLGU and Hybrid LBBGxHerring Gull.  Bill        

    Fontenot, Mac Myers.

    Light conditions were backlighted so images were lightened.

      habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): brief flying, actively

      feeding on catfish.

15. Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include

      if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape,   

     proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from

     similar species): Large gull, bright orange/yellow bill with red and black spots at

     (mandible) bill’s tip, bright orange/yellow legs, dark gray mantle, iris yellow, slightly

     reddish orbital ring, primaries darker than mantle with small white spots near wing 

     tips, white leading and trailing edges of primaries and secondaries, head and ventral

     surfaces white.

     as dark, bill and feet less orange/yellow than gull in question.

22. Are you positive of your identification if not, explain: The bird in question is in all 

      probability a LBBG/Herring Gull hybrid.  The bird in question also possesses the

      fieldmarks of YLGU.
