Birds responded to Screech-owl tape. There were 8 Eastern Towhees(5 males and 3 females) and 2 male
Spotted Towhee. |

Description: |
Black mantle back and tail.
White belly and on edges of tip of tail. White spots on the wings - clearly absent on the Eastern
Towhees present. Red eyes. |

in agitation to the tape |

Similar
species: |
Eastern Towhee. We saw
then side by side. Birds would skulk
down in the dead vegetation but occasionally perch in one of the shrubs long
enough to get good looks at the. |
