11. Distance to bird(s): 15-30 meters

12. Duration of observation: 15 minutes

13. Habitat: On concrete wall on levee and adjacent area near the Intracoastal Waterway; levee bordered by brackish marsh on one side and tallow scrub woods on the other side. Substantial open area extends from levee on both sides before reaching the marsh and the woods.

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): Perching on concrete wall atop levee, as well as on posts and branches; flycatching.

Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Approximate size of an Eastern Phoebe, but appearing slimmer. Brownish-gray above and rusty below from undertail coverts to pale gray breast and throat. Broad pale tips to greater primary coverts contrast with dark folded wing. Very dark tail.

17. Similar species (include how they were eliminated by your observation): Could be confused with imm. Vermilion FC with a cursory view; otherwise straightforward ID.
