About 1 minute---got one picture then it flew.

Habitat:

Open beach

Behavior of bird:

Alone on beach.  Profile then it flew.

Description:

Good white head, yellow bill with red mark.  Back black down to wings where some molting coloration could be seen.  When it flew it showed a all white tail with a large black spot near the tip of the two outer feathers.  Legs pink-gray.  Personally I didn\'t think the bird looked big enough for a Great Black-backed, but it was alone with nothing to compare with.  When it flew it then seemed to be a large enough gull.
