LA Hwy 82, at Mile post 7, two miles west of entrance to Hackberry Ridge and West Johnson Bayou Gas Field (Secret Place).

Marsh/Cameron Prairie

Behavior of bird: 

One bird was observed being mobbed in flight by blackbirds. Upon exiting my auto, a second bird was observed flying along other side of highway 82. Both birds were generally flying west along highway 82, then made a wide turn to the north and east. Birds were last seen flying NW.

Description:

Birds were size of large raptors (i.e. rtha). Observed four white corners on the birds- head/neck, tail and primaries. Orange facial skin, large beak, and black cap were observed.

None heard.

Crested Caracara previously observed in Calcasieu Parish and on approximately four occasions in Texas.
