13. Habitat: Lake Pontchartrain on channel marker#2.

14. Behavior of bird / circumstances of observation (flying, feeding, resting; include and stress habits used in identification; relate events surrounding observation): Bird seen on channel marker and it was preening. Only stayed about 5 minutes, then took off again.

Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species): Bird was close to cormorant size. Could make out itís dramatic demarcation between brown on breast/head and white on itís belly. Long tail. Bill very light colored, flesh colored.
