possible Bell's Vireo, Vireo bellii

Vermilion Parish, 10/15/2005. sketches and video stills by Paul Conover

The bird had a poorly-defined, diffuse white area instead of spectacles, divided by a darker ocular line. The bill was noticeably pale. The head was grayish, contrasting with the grayish-green mantle and greenish rump and uppertail.

The bird was fairly slender, long-tailed, with one fairly distinct wingbar on the median coverts. The flanks, vent and undertail coverts were washed pale yellow, although in direct sunlight the yellowish tones appeared absent. Legs appeared grayish.
