12. Duration of observation:  Initially several 1-2 minute observations throughout the day on 11/6/11.

13. Habitat: Feeder at edge of porch with yard edged by trees, brush.

Description (include only what was actually seen, not what "should" have been seen; include if possible: total length/relative size compared to other familiar species, body bulk, shape, proportions, bill, eye, leg, and plumage characteristics. Stress features that separate it from similar species):

Description: cid:image001.gif@01CCACE4.B40C2EC0The bird appeared darker than a Ruby-throated, especially on the belly.  Tail appeared slightly longer than wingtips.  From the underside, there was some white in the tail.  Gorget appeared a bronzy green in center and pink on the sides.  Back was green.  Crown appeared to be tan with dark dots in it.

16. Voice:  I did not hear it initially but I have since heard it chip and give a buzzy song.

17. Similar species (include how they were eliminated by your observation):  I could see no rusty color anywhere on the bird to eliminate Selasphorus sp.  Gorget and crown eliminated Ruby-throated.
