It was a great weekend for the LOS winter meeting in Abita Spring (Money Hill).
Registration for both nights was 75 with several new members signing up. Friday
night, Robert Diehl, PhD. from U. of Southern Mississippi gave an excellent overview
on migrating birds and NEXRAD for the coastal area. Saturday night, Donata Henry
followed up with a more localized update from her MAPS station in the Pearl River area.
As per usual she gave an informative and humorous look at the birds and their status
before and after Katrina. The Money Hill facility was very nice and the food was great.
Linda Beall put together an excellent team of field trip leaders. "Thank you" to
everyone who attended and to all the people who made the meeting possible.
